Ensemble Gending was established in 1989 to present and perform newly composed music on a javanese gamelan.
The gamelan – being played for hundred of years on Java and well known for the sonore sound of bronze – has a surprising quality for contemporary composers worldwide.
Almost every year a new program is realized. On the beautiful and extensive website of Ensemble Gending you will find all information on composers, the players, the unique instruments, tours in the past and actual information on upcoming events.
